I had a dream last night that I was hanging out with Lewis and Clark, only it was a modern Corps of Discovery and they were both in their mid-twenties and Lewis decided to wander off into the dark wilderness by himself and Clark was all “Damn it, he’s done it again,” and was trying to fetch him and then they were both little kids and I had to babysit them and make sure they didn’t get into more trouble.

In another universe, Lewis and Clark rode back to Washington on a woolly mammoth and Jefferson squee’d.

I just have to reblog this again because I have it on the bulletin board by my desk so I get to enjoy this image every day and everyone else deserves the same level of giddiness.

September 23, 1806: Lewis and Clark Return from Expedition
On this day in 1806, Meriwether Lewis and William Clark returned from their two-and-a-half-year expedition, which covered the expanse from the Mississippi River to the Pacific Coast and back.
The two men brought back a wealth of information about the largely unexplored region within the Louisiana Purchase territory. During their expedition, Lewis and Clark studied the plants, animal life, geography and elements of economic opportunity throughout the vast area.

if Lewis & Clark had taken their trip in 1968 and a film crew had joined them, this would have been on the soundtrack

Jessica I am actually not sure how to respond to this because part of me thinks that it’s pretty awesome and accurate but the other part can’t stop laughing my ass off.

That’s kinda the point XD omg can you imagine them as hippies in the 60s?
